Olivia of Staghorn Valley

Olivia was one of the first alpacas that we carefully selected for our foundation herd and what a great choice she was! She has produced four girls for us, and every one has been exceptional. Olivia’s daughters have all been darker than she is, ranging from light brown to black. In fact, each one closely reflects the color of the herdsire. Olivia has had two outstanding girls from champion sire Hilltop’s Dreamer’s Advocate, so she was rebred to him last fall. Diego De Buel, Olivia's first male offspring, was born in October, 2008. Please look for information about Diego on our Crias page.  Olivia is a Royal Fawn granddaughter, so she brings legendary genetics to any pairing.

Olivia is an attentive and protective mother, with plenty of milk. Her crias always have good birth weights, high IgGs, correct conformation and very fine fiber. In fact, Olivia’s micron count at one year of age was 17.6, confirming the fineness of her fleece. Olivia’s bite has always been correct; no teeth trimming for this girl!

Three of Olivia’s daughters are now in our breeding program, so we have decided to offer Olivia for sale at this time. It is difficult to let her go, but we know that her lineage will continue on our farm. Olivia would be an important asset for any farm looking for excellence in their breeding plan.

October, 2009 Update:  Olivia has a confirmed pregnancy to our outstanding herdsire, Mighty Fine Finnegan, with a due date in the Summer of 2010.
